Vagabond - You Don't Know the Half of It
New UK rock band, Vagabond, currently signed to the newly reformed Geffen Records UK, release their debut album, You Don’t Know the Half of It, this summer.
Produced by Xenomania (Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Cher, Pet Shop Boys and Kylie Minogue) the first single release from the album was “Don’t Wanna Run No More” just released this week.
The soulful rock group include Sly & The Family Stone and Aerosmith as huge influences on their music. Lead singer, Alex explains on the official band website about their musical roots:
“Soul is the thread that runs through everything we do. Our tastes span pop, rock, soul, funk and blues, but it’s these clashes that make us interesting, that make us who we are. Otherwise we’d be just another indie band”
Vagabond have already completed a successful UK tour this year and have supported James Morrison, McFly and The Script.

Jet Shaka Rock Release Date
Australian rock band, Jet, release their third studio album, Shaka Rock, through EMI early autumn. Formed by brothers, Nic and Chris Cester in 2000 they collaborated with school friend Cameron Muncey and later in 2002 were joined by Mark Wilson.
The band have been working on the album since 2008 writing songs in New York and producing the album in Los Angeles. The first official single released from the album was “She’s a Genius” although “K.I.A (Killed in Action” was available on the band’s website as a free download early April 2009.
The album has been eagerly anticipated since their last album release (Shine On) in October 2006. Shaka Rock is released on 7th September.

Newton Faulkner Release Date
Hand Built by Robots was Newton’s first album released in 2007 and which debuted at number 1 in the UK. The English folk/rock singer songwriter has come back with his second studio album, Rebuilt by Humans to be released in September this year.
Newton has an alternative style and has performed to huge critical acclaim at venues such as South by Soutwest, Glastonbury, V Festival, Connect Festival and Oxegen.
Newton’s idea for the title of the album was born out of his experience in 2008 when he injured himself after slipping on some ice and doctors had to fit a metal plate in his wrist. In other words, he had been put together again by humans.
The first single from the album will be “If this Is It” released 14 September ahead of the album release date on 21st September.

Mika - New Album Release Date
The Boy Who Knew Too Much is Lebanon-born pop singer/songwriter, Mika’s second studio album released this Autumn.
The first single from the album, “We Are Golden” has had radio airplay since 20th July when it was first played on Radio 2. It will be available for download on 6th September and physical release on the 7th.
The album is said to deal with teenage issues and Mika has worked with producer Greg Wells who also produced his first album, Life in Cartoon Motion.
The Boy Who Knew Too Much is released through Universal on 21st September.

Tincy Stryder Release Date
Kwasi Danquah, aka Tinchy Strider is a British “grime” music artist – Grime originated in East London and developed through UK hiphop, garage and dancehall.
Tinchy began performing at the age of 13 and in April this year had his first UK number one with “Number 1″ in collaboration with N-Dubz.
Catch 22 is Tinchy’s second studio album on the back of three successful singles leading up to it’s release – “Take Me Back”, “Number One” and “Never Leave You” (released 3rd August featuring Amelle from the Sugababes).
The album will be released in standard version and also deluxe 2-disc with 7 bonus tracks.
Catch 22 is released on 17th August.

Megadeth Release Date
Endgame is the American heavy metal band’s 12th studio album featuring new guitarist, Chris Broderick (previously from Jag Panzer).
The album was produced and mixed at the band’s own Vic’s Garage Studios in California and is described as “old school” Megadeth. Lead singer, Dave Mustaine recently stated about the band’s new CD, “It is fast, it is heavy, there is singing, yelling, speaking, and guest voices (maybe not singing — more like in “Captive Honor”), the soloing is insane.”
The first single off the album will be “Head Crusher” written by Dave Mustaine and Shawn Drover which can now be streamed from the RoadRunner website.
Endgame is released on 14th September.

Porcupine Tree Release Date
Grammy nominated prog rock band, Porcupine Tree have been said to have been influenced not just by psychedelic rock but also ambient, krautrock and trance. Their forthcoming 10th studio album, The Incident, is released through Roadrunner records on 14th September.
The album consists of a double disc. Disc one features the main title track, a 55 minute long epic based on Steven Wilson’s work about beginnings and endings, “incidents” where afterwards nothing is the same again. The track will be produced as a music video, directed by usual Porcupine Tree collaborator Lasse Hoile.
The second disc is a collection of 4 compositions developed out of the band’s songwriting sessions last December.
The Incident is released on 14th September.

Jamie T Release Date
Jamie T – nicknamed the “one man Arctic Monkey” is a 23 year old singer songwriter from South London. Signed to Virgin Records in 2006 he went on to win the 2007 Shockwave NME Award for Best Solo Artist – beating none others than Jarvis Cocker and Tom Yorke.
His music has an high energy, upbeat indie-punk feel and his debut album, Panic Prevention was short-listed for a Mercury Prize in 2007.
His second studio album, Kings and Queens is released this Autumn. Sticks n Stones, the first single off the album reached number 15 in the singles chart and the second single, Chaka Demus EP is out on the 31st August, closely followed by the album release on 7th September.

Pixie Lott Release Date
Pixie Lott, UK songwriter/actress and dancer, was signed to Mercury in 2007 and released her first single, “Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)” on 8th June this year which went straight in at number 1 in the UK charts, the first female artist not originating from a talent show to ever debut at number one.
Her debut album, Turn it Up, is released in September, preceded by her second single, “Boys and Girls”. At just 18 years of age, her enigmatic and soulful voice and multitude of talents has pitched her into the dizzy heights of contemporaries such as Natasha Bedingfield and Amy Winehouse. There is no doubt this one is heading for very big things indeed.

Muse Release Date
The Resistance is Muse’s forthcoming fifth studio album on Warner Bros Helium 3 label. The release of the album has taken an unconventional turn with the band using Twitter and their official website to release details of the title of the album and the first single, “United States of Eurasia”.
Radio 1′s Zane Lowe described the album as as “a beautifully recorded, strong, sweeping, fighting, uplifting, rocking, lilting and inclusive record about love.” He later went on to say: “There are massive riffs in there, there are quirky pop songs in there, there’s all sorts of wonder in there, it is absolutely amazing.”
This praise is across the board and album is tipped as being their most ambitious project ever which they have successfully pulled off.
