Iron Maiden Release Date
Iron Maiden are the subject of a British/Canadian documentary film following them on their first leg of the Somewhere Back in Time World Tour between February and March 2008. The tour consists of a mammoth 50,000 mile trip around the globe covering 23 dates in 5 continents in just 45 days.
FLIGHT 666 was directed by Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen with the award-winning Banger Productions team (‘Metal; A Headbanger’s Story’ and ‘Global Metal’) The tour took them 50,000 miles round the planet playing 23 concerts on five continents in just 45 days. Featured in the movie is the band’s customised Boeing 757, Ed Force One, piloted by Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson.
This is a great opportunity to experience life on the road with one of the most successful rock bands of all time. The 5.1 soundtrack was mixed by Maiden’s own Kevin Shirley.
FLIGHT 666 will be released on CD, 2-disc DVD and Blu Ray on 25th May.

Inkheart on Blu-ray Release Date
‘Inkheart’ will be released to Blu-ray on 13/4/09. This is a fantasy story and is the first from the ‘Inkworld Trilogy’. Meggie Folchart’s father Mo has a rather strange ability; he can bring the characters in a book alive as he reads out loud!
On one occasion when Mo was reading aloud he managed to send Meggies mother Resa into a story book so Meggie and her father are all alone in the world despite Mo’s attempts to reverse his error. Others learn of Mo’s ability and pursue him for their own ends. Meggie and her father try to stay one step ahead of them all to no avail.
The pair are captured and with some assistance eventually manage to escape. They must come up with a way to transport their captors into book form so that they will be safe in the future. Find out if they are successful on 13/4/09 when ‘Inkheart’ is released on Blu-ray.

A Bridge Too Far Blu-Ray Release Date
With an expected release date of 13/4/09 is ‘A Bridge Too Far’ on Blu-ray. This film is a recreated version of the wartime classic of the same name and stars actors like Dirk Bogarde, James Caan, Sean Connery and Michael Caine.
In the film we see ‘Operation Market Garden’ get underway which was intended to bring about an early conclusion to the hostilities by crushing the Germans fighting tactics. Things don’t run to plan as a devastating course of events go against the allies.

‘Planet of The Apes (1968) 40th Anniversary Edition’ is due out on release as a Blu-ray version on 13/4/09. A touch of nostalgia beckons for those old enough to remember the original ‘Planet of the Apes’ series.
Charlton Heston who is the astronaut Colonel Taylor crash lands on an alien planet. He is captured by the inhabitants of the land who turn out to be a colony of humanised intelligent apes. Humans on this planet are the inferior race and are treat with contempt. Help is at hand as Taylor is aided by some of the more moderate apes.
The film is thoroughly entertaining and stands the test of time, it has a devastatingly dramatic end that can’t be missed. ‘Planet of the Apes (1968) 40th Anniversary Edition’ is due for release on 13/4/09.

Earth Stood Still Blu-Ray Release Date
‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ will be released on Blu-ray on 20/4/09. Starring Keanu Reeves, Kathy Bates and a cameo role from John Cleese this film is a re-make of the 1951 film that has the same title.
Reeves is Klaatu an alien who descends to earth in a spaceship landing in Central Park. An overzealous soldier shoots Klaatu but he appears to rejuvenate himself and warns of an impending alien invasion. A battle against time commences with an eruption of special effects.
What will happen is earth doomed or can the looming disaster be averted find out on 20/4/09 when ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ is released on Blu-ray.

Bourne Ultimatum on Blu-Ray
Jason Bourne returns in ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ due for release on 30/3/09. This is the third instalment about the character Jason Bourne from the books of the author Robert Ludlum. Bourne is a spy created by a secret organisation called ‘Treadstone’. He lost his memory in the first movie when he was shot and pushed into the sea for dead.
The Bourne Supremacy is the second movie in the trilogy and sees Bourne getting flashbacks as he starts to piece together who he is and who was behind his intended murder. In this new movie Bourne is robotic in his determination to stop at nothing in finding out exactly what lies in his past.
As he moves from country to country on his journey Bourne comes up against an unrelenting effort from paid assassins who are intent on killing him. ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ is a fast action packed thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is due for release on Blu-ray 30/3/09.
