Slipknot Release Date
Iowa rock band, Slipknot release special 10th anniversary edition of their debut album Slipknot . The band have maintained their original line up of 9 members since they formed in 1995, hence the special release date of 9th September 2009.
The album box-set will comprise of CD & DVD digipack with the original tracklisting along with previously unreleased material and new track “Purity”. The DVD will feature a film “Of The Sic: A Decade Come And Gone” directed by M. Shawn Crahan giving a peek into the surreal and complex time around the release of Slipknot’s debut album. It will also have director’s commentary, all three music videos released in support of the album, the live concert recorded at the Dynamo Open Air, 2000 and “other surprises”.
Collectors can choose between standard box set and a “super deluxe” box set version which will also contain T-shirt, patch, collectible cards, key chain, beanie and a note from vocalist Corey Taylor, boxed in a package resembling a safety deposit box.
Slipknot 10th Anniversary Edition is released on 9th September.

Beatles Remastered
The remaster series continues with Abbey Road, originally released on 26th September 1969 it was the penultimate album released before the band’s break up in 1970. This year, the remastered original will be available on the 9th September.
All albums in this series are digitally remastered and re-packaged with rare photos, illuminating background notes, eco-friendly limited edition packaging and in addition, come with a mini-documentary on each album plus photos and rare footage from Abbey Road Studios.

Pete Doherty Tickets
Love him or loathe him, Pete Doherty is back performing in four concerts in England and Scotland.
The ex-gravedigger, ex-Libertines front man and ex-ex of supermodel Kate Moss has had a chequered career to date defined by extreme success and extreme failure, the latter brought about by his widely reported use of drugs.
This tour sees Doherty back on form after celebrated sessions in rehab with his recent performances receiving consistently good reviews. Earlier this year, he performed a solo gig at the Royal Albert Hall when the stage was invaded by over-enthusiastic fans during the encore.
Recognised as being one of the most promising songwriters on the UK music scene, Doherty was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for the single, The Lovers which he wrote in collaboration with the poet Wolfman. As well as performing with the band Babyshambles, formed in the latter days of the Libertines, his solo shows are likely to involve a host of other artists in addition to his acoustic material that still manages to hit the spot with melodies like The Lost Art of Murder and What Katie Did.
His latest album Grace/Wastelands, the first since the Libertines, has been described as containing songs of “genuine brilliance” with unexpected chord changes and an “air of understated, small-hours melancholy.”
Strutting the world’s stage like a kind of shambolic Renaissance man, Doherty is variously a poet, painter and writer; his book The Books of Albion: The Collected Writings of Peter Doherty was published in 2007 and his journals provide a unique insight into his life.
A songwriter of genius and true rock star, Pete Doherty is undoubtedly one of the characters and performers of a generation.

The Script
With their music recently coined as a new brand of Celtic soul, the Irish trio, The Script are performing in venues in Dublin, Belfast and Birmingham.
The band comprises Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power who met in their early teens in Dublin and found a common ground in their love of American black music.
It’s this influence coupled with a lyrical Irish background that informs their unique songs full of emotion and passion; “Irish people have soul, “ says Danny, “It comes from generations of pain and generations of understanding emotion to be able to physically get that solid sound.”
Danny and Mark started writing songs together and for several years made demos for other artist in the States. After joining up with drummer Glen, who Mark says, “just whipped the ass of all those LA musos, “and was the “funkiest drummer around with real energy and swing,” the Script was created. A debut single, We Cry a moving anthem about everyday struggle, reached 13 in the UK charts and the album The Script went straight to number one in the UK charts, generating 600,000 in sales.
Simmering in a melting pot of indie, R&B and pop melodies and soul, The Script’s songs are powerful stuff, with raw emotion contained within conveyed by Danny whose voice has been described as a synthesis of Bono, Justin Timberlake and Morten Harket.
Since their album success, The Script have been hanging out with some seriously big names, opening for Paul McCartney at New York’s CitiField, for U2 at Dublins Croke Park and as a support for Take That’s Circus Tour.
The Script is well and truly in production.
Ricky Gervais
A legend in his own lifetime, Ricky Gervais has won massive popularity in the UK and in the US as the cringingly awful David Brent, the main character in the TV show, The Office.
Now he’s out on a fourth live stand-up tour appearing in venues across the country doing what comes naturally, namely entertaining and generally making audiences crease up with laughter.
Born in Reading, Ricky got a degree in philosophy from London University before dabbling in the music and entertainment business. After his appointment with the radio station Xfm, he met Stephen Merchant who became co-writer and director of The Office. Sketch writing led to television appearances including the 11 o’clock show and Meet Ricky Gervais. During this time he and Stephen Merchant started to write an office-based spoof comedy which was eventually taken up by the BBC and the rest is broadcasting history.
Other successes like Extras came hot on the heels but when a tentative stand-up show proved to be a sell-out Ricky embarked on the famous Animals tour in 2003 and the Politics tour a year later on. A third show, Fame took place in 2007 when tickets sold out within minutes of going on sale.

Elton John release dates
He’s back on the Yellow Brick Road doing a tour that takes in venues like The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley and the O2 Dublin.
Elton John is one of the most successful artists of all time having sold 200 million records with more than 50 top 40 hits. He is the third most frequently charting artist in history in the US behind only Madonna and The Beatles. With the help of song-writing partner Bernie Taupin, he has created some of the most ubiquitous and iconic songs of the era including rock, ballads and orchestral numbers and one of his abiding influences has been in bringing piano playing to the forefront of popular music.
An unlikely looking pop idol with his cuddly physique and penchant for oversized spectacles, Elton is now a national institution. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, became a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1995 and was made a Knight Bachelor in 1998.
The prolific song-writing partnership with Bernie Taupin was first formed when Elton answered an ad in NME placed by Ray Williams, the manager for Liberty Records who put the two talented composers together. For several years they wrote hundreds of easy-listening tunes for various artists, taking less than two hours to create each one. When Elton started recording the songs as a solo artist, the breakthrough single, Your Song made the US top ten and he began to make a name for himself with his flamboyant stage antics which included performing handstands on the keyboard.
Monster album hits followed like Honky Chateau, Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, performed with John Lennon in the latter’s last live performance at Madison Square Garden. Many years later, Elton’s soundtrack for the Disney animated film, The Lion King was at the top of the Billboard charts for nine weeks. In September 1997 he performed an altered version of Candle in the Wind at the funeral of Princess Diana which became the fastest and biggest selling single of all time. His support of young and up and coming stars is legendary and he has performed songs with George Michael, Eminem and the boy band Blue.

Papa Roach UK and European Tour 2009 - release dates
Tickets are now on sale to see the Northern Californian-based rock band, Papa Roach, on their UK and European Tour.
Playing in support of their fifth studio album, Metamorphosis that reached number 8 in the UK charts, the swaggering rock outfit will also be performing a clutch of songs from their back catalogue like the raunchy, I Almost Told You I Loved You, Time is Running Out, Between Angels and Insects and Blood Brothers.
Front-man Jacoby Shaddix, famed for his powerful vocals and command of the microphone will be belting them out with the assistance of Jerry Horton on lead guitar, Tobin Esperance on bass and Tony Palermo on drums.
After their debut in 2000, the band sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and was nominated for a Grammy award. Wickerman Festival 2010 release dates
Dates for the Wickerman Festival 2010 are 23rd and 24th July with tickets available soon.
If you fancy going to a less commercial festival with a lot of frivolity and mirth-making, this could be the event for you. Over 20,000 devotees of the Wickerman festival congregate in the scenic setting of East Kirkcarswell near Dundrennan in South West Scotland every July, making it the largest family music festival held in Scotland.
The atmosphere is more bohemian than that at some of its larger counterparts in the UK and the music is all-embracing with performers ranging from classic indie, 80s music, electro pop and hacienda party. Events reach a grand climax at midnight on Saturday with the burning of the 25 foot tall Wickerman effigy in a show of truly Promethean rebelliousness as revellers dance around the dying embers.
Line-ups are usually an eclectic bunch of talented performers that refuse to conform to a stereotypical genre and in 2009 included diverse names such as The Human League, The Magic Numbers, The Zutons, Bad Manners, Candi Staton and Billy Bragg. Just to stir up the mix further, there were sets by DJs including DJ Idlewild. Two main stages dominate the proceedings with dance tents, acoustic and reggae tents and many other bands performing.

It’s as well to arrive on the Thursday preceding the festival to take advantage of the general atmosphere of tomfoolery taking place on the site. Attractions and events include Crazy Festival Gold, a mountain bike track with skills course and pump track, scooter tent and village shop, plus the Greenman Inn with its in-house pipe and accordion band.
As a quirky and unforgettable experience Wickerman is an experience many people want to repeat because it still retains a simple ethos that may have gone astray in other festivals. In the words of one enthusiastic convert on the website, Wickerman stands for, “togetherness, spectacle and community.”

JLS (X Factor) Release Date
Otherwise known as Jack the Lad Swing, JLS were hugely popular runners up in the 5th series of XFactor, coming second behind winner Alexandra Burke. Signed to Sony’s Epic Records, their debut single, “Beat Again” went straight into number one on July 19th.
Although commercial, their music also has an urban and contemporary feel making it a fully rounded production. JLS have been described by many as the best boy band to ever come from a talent show and they won support slots to tour with Lemar for his Spring tour and Ne-Yo for the summer dates.
Aston, Marvin, Jonathan and Oritsé are said to be delighted with their debut release and the date has now been set for 9th November.
