Reading Festival 2010 release dates
A limited amount of tickets are now available for the Reading Festival, 2010 which is to be held on the August Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 27th August to Sunday 29th August. Ticket prices are available from £175 for a weekend with camping or from £70 for a day. Prices are expected to rise for the official release in March 2010 (keep watching releasedates.org.uk for details). Alternatively you can wait until the tickets are officially released online in March 2010.
The Reading Festival held at Little John’s Farm in Richmond Avenue may be the oldest pop festival in the world but it’s still up there at the pinnacle of music events with a record-breaking sell-out occurring only an hour after tickets went on sale in 2006. Plans to increase capacity to 82,000 in 2010 means that more tickets will be available but you have to be quick off the mark to reserve your place at this legendary event where rock history is made before your eyes.
Originally begun as the National Jazz Festival, the line-up became progressively more rock and heavy metal orientated during the eighties and nineties. Nowadays the festival embraces all types of music ranging from indie, Goth, punk, dance, plus many genres in-between. Predominating over all is the mighty giant of rock.
Over a period of three days you can see over 150 acts with headliners making exclusive performances you’re not likely to see anywhere else in the UK with platforms and stages showcasing alternative rock, underground acts, dance, unsigned bands and even comedy and cabaret acts.
Who could forget the famous events of 1992 when front-man of the legendary rock band, Nirvana, Kurt Kobain appeared on stage in a wheelchair, mocking the prevalent speculation over his health and followed it up by playing a set unsurpassed in the history of live performances, or of the rise and rise of the Arctic Monkeys who made their debut in the packed Carling Tent – surprisingly enough everybody seemed to already know them – or when urban-rap performer 50 Cent had to retreat from stage after 20 minutes because of the barrage of bottles heading in his direction.
In 2009, the festival was more popular than ever with the return of the Arctic Monkeys, joined by massive headliners like Radiohead and Kings of Leon. Who knows what 2010 will bring?
With tickets typically selling out only an hour after their release, watch this space for details of the line-up and official ticket release in March, 2010.

Wireless Festival 2010 Release Dates
The definitive festival for dance, urban, hip hop and R&B kicks off in July 2010 in London’s Hyde Park. Tickets will soon be available so we’ll get the details as soon as possible.
Wireless 2009 saw world class acts playing across four stages with some truly awesome performances from performers like Dizzee Rascal, Jack Penate, Alesha Dixon and Calvin Harris and Noisettes that sent the crowd into a veritable frenzy with more spine-tingling sets provided by the headliners Basement Jaxx and Kanye West.
But this year’s festival offered even more than music with food and drink at The Serpentine Bar and Dominos and a host of entertainments including a Victorian funfair speed dating, a treasure hunt with cool prizes, video games at the EA Hub. There was even a mock-up beach for those who wanted to soak up the rays.

Sonisphere Festival 2009
It’s not too late yet to get tickets for the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth House, near Stevenage in Hertfordshire on August 1st and 2nd. With over 60,000 fans expected to attend this camping festival has taken off in a big way.
Knebworth has been the scene of many legendary musical events hosting bands since 1974 like the Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
This year’s event held at the beginning of August is no exception with some of the finest rock bands in the world taking the stage.
One main arena with a three alternating stages means that festival goers don’t have to miss any of the acts. The masters of thrash metal, Metallica are headlining with a mixture of nu-metal and rap-rock supplied by the innovative Linkin Park, fresh from recording their fourth studio album. Backed up by bands like Avenged Sevenfold, the ascendant Bullet for My Valentine and the massive Mastodon, the festival promises to be a historic occasion.
The festival at Knebworth is the culmination of a Sonisphere tour of Europe which included Germany, Spain, Holland, Sweden and Finland and represents the grand finale of this mega rock event. Cinema, bars and funfair on site add to the general mayhem. Next year Sonisphere is rumoured to be going global – watch this space for details.
