Mosquito 3.0

Micro Mosquito 3.0

Micro Mosquito 3.0

OK, so it’s a toy but a cool toy and one that will help you hone your piloting skills without leaving the safety of the helipad.

The Mosquito 3.0 is one mean machine that will happily buzz around your living room for up to seven full minutes from half an hour of charging. With glowing red LED eyes and six spindly legs, it’s no bigger than your palm but is easy to control and immensely manoeuvrable. Featuring cutting-edge technology, it has a twin coaxial rotor which ensures smooth and stable operation and exact forward and reverse control.

A helicopter launch pad acts as the charger and the controls are so precise that you could take off and land it from your hand. It has full function three-channel digital radio control and portable charger and requires a 9v battery for the transmitter and 6 x C cell batteries for the charger. What’s more, the Mosquito 3.0 doesn’t bite and it could represent the most fun you’ve had indoors for a long time.

Oasis Tickets – Bridlington Spa – 20 Aug. ’09

Oasis concert Bridlington Spa release dates

Oasis concert Bridlington Spa release dates

There’s still a chance to get your tickets for what promises to be the most intimate gig that Manchester rockers, Oasis have played for a long time.

Sandwiched in-between the huge festival performances in South Korea and at the V Festival, Oasis return to East Yorkshire for the third time to perform their only indoor gig of the year, backed by the Newcastle-based Detroit Social Club.
Only 3,500 tickets are available in the re-vamped Bridlington Spa where a £19.5m makeover has scooped an array of top acts for the venue including The Kooks, Scouting for Girls and Kasabian. All of these pale into insignificance against the organiser’s latest coup of capturing Britain’s favourite rock band whose back catalogue probably contains some of the best rock/pop numbers in recent history.

Oasis, or more specifically, the famously bickering Gallagher brothers, is a national institution that characterises a quintessentially British rock. Selling over 70 million records worldwide with eight number one singles and numerous NME, Brit and MTV Awards, they gained the prestigious BRIT Award for their Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2007.

But it’s at their live concerts that their pre-eminence comes to the fore when their typically laid-back and insolent delivery has the fans eating out of their hands. Though largely devoid of visual or physical fireworks or any attempt to offer anything other than the basic rawness of the songs, the anthemic magnetism of tunes like Champagne Supernova, the euphoric Morning Glory or the hallowed Wonderwall leaves no-one disappointed. Anyone who has seen the spectacle of a 50,000 capacity crowd singing the words of Don’t Look Back in Anger can’t fail to be moved by the bond between Oasis and its audience or by their sheer brilliance which is the reason why they remain today, Britain’s biggest stadium draw.

Don’t miss your chance to see them in this one-off show.

Rewind Festival 2009 Tickets

Tickets are now available for Rewind, the newest, so called “boutique” festival that takes place on August 21st, 22nd and 23rd in the Temple Island meadows near Henley on Thames at Remenham Farm and proudly boasts the biggest line-up of 80s acts since Live Aid.

Setting the trend for festival organisers everywhere, Rewind will be a hard act to follow. The line-up reflects the grown-up approach with sophisticates like Kim Wilde, Rick Astley, Kid Creole, Toyah, China Crisis, Paul Young, The Christians and at the top of the bill, summing up the decade; Gloria Gaynor. This is up-market entertainment indeed from the era that brought us the mullet, leggings and yuppies.

Visitors who expect to “rough it” at festivals will be pleasantly surprised. Sophisticated chic is the name of the day; the festival even has its own moorings on the perimeter on the River Thames, allocated on a first-come, first served basis. On site, posh nosh is provided in the festival restaurant with an award-winning barbecue and Riverside Cocktail Bar. A bespoke cider barn, a replica of the original cider house at Aspall’s site in Sussex, serves up the authentic mead, whilst the “perfect Pimms” can be obtained from the double-decker bus bar or, a slightly less British taste of the Caribbean is provided by the Angostura Bitters Rum Bar.

The campsite on Tangerine Fields is in a beautiful setting with quiet areas dedicated to families and the possibility to hire tents already pitched. The Big Top Nightclub provides a chill out area with themed bars during the day and a classic 80s disco at night. A fairground complete with dodgems and pleasure rides is sited next to the river. Other onsite entertainments include the Comedy Store with the best in British and International Comedy.

A stunning firework finale promises to provide a fitting crescendo to the proceedings.

From 29th to 30th August, crowds of up to 40,000 are expected to chill-out, rave and above all, dance the night away at Daresbury Estate, Halton in Cheshire. The two day event was born in 1998 when it was the first festival to put DJs centre stage. Now widely accepted as the clubbing world’s largest outdoor event, the festival has expanded even further to other countries like Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Argentina.

The massive 2009 line-up will perform on a range of stages and terraces with the main stage featuring artists like Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal, Mylo Live and Calvin Harris with top DJs and MCs including Judge Jules and Annie Mac.

A new and streamlined site has given the Main Stage its own private field but there’s also a funfair, Farmers’ Market, competitions or time to grab a cocktail in the Mojito tent. I’m going to bring a huge live show to Creamfields this year and throw everything I’ve got at it.”

We can’t wait!

Download Festival 2010 Tickets

Download Festival 2010 release date

Download Festival 2010 release date

We’ll bring you details of how to get tickets for Download as soon as they’re available.

Unparalleled in heavy rock festivals throughout the UK and an indispensible date on the calendar for metallers everywhere, Download is held each year in June. The venue is located in Donington Park in Derby amidst rolling green countryside, where the roar of planes passing over the audience’s head to land at nearby Donington Airport competes with the growl of the heavy rock bands on stage.

The festival is guaranteed to deliver; this year’s bash was no exception mixing the heaviest metal with glam rock, nu-metal, dance and classic rock. Faith No More performed their first gig since their controversial break-up in 1998 and fans of the nu-metal band were not disappointed with tongue-in-cheek renditions of Lady GaGa’s Poker Face and Lionel Ritchie’s Easy going down a storm, plus a frantic rendition of Ashes to Ashes.

Limp Bizkit arrived for their first UK show for five years when the crowd went beserk as the band churned out their classics like Rollin’and Break Stuff. Not an easy act to follow but on Saturday Night Slipknot’s demonic performance broke through all boundaries of extreme while Prodigy had the drum n bass fans up and buzzing. Sunday Classic Rock Day brought out the old school legends like Whitesnake, ZZ Top and topping the bill, the Def Leppard whose set provided a seminal Download performance.

Next year can only get better. Watch this space for dates and tickets.

Glastonbury 2010 Tickets

Glastonbury Festival 2010 Release Date

Glastonbury Festival 2010 Release Date

The dates have now been announced for the 2010 Glastonbury Festival and registration is now open for tickets.

The festival will take place from Wednesday June 23rd to Sunday, June 27th.
Tickets can be purchased from October 5th, 2009 once registration is complete.

Probably the most famous festival in the world, everyone should go to Glastonbury at least once in their life, even if it’s just to say they’ve been. Until you’ve experienced the idyllic setting, the mystical atmosphere, most famous bands in the world and yes… even the mud, you can’t be said to be a serious festival goer. This year, Glastonbury was attended by over 180,000 people with a staggering 700 acts playing on 80 different stages. These days the hippy image is somewhat diluted but the spiritual traditions and New Age influences are still present and the location in the mystical Vale of Avalon and small, megalithic stone circle in King’s Meadow, are part of the attraction of the festival for newcomers and regulars alike.

In fact Glastonbury is not only a music festival but a whole event with each area of the site possessing its own character and attracting different groups of people, with entertainments like theatre and circus, cinema, a dance village and The Green Fields; a zone for meditation and creativity.

This year the event was bigger and better than before, compounded by – surprise, surprise – beautiful weather. The line-up, taken from the whole musical gamut, included electrifying sets provided by vintage performers like Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Neil Young, plus storming sessions by Blur, The Prodigy and Lady Gaga.

Everyone wanting to come to the festival over the age of 12 must register online at the registration site on the Glastonbury website or by sending an SAE to PO Box 2445, Glasgow G40 9AG. This involves providing contact details and a passport-sized standard photo on receipt of which you’ll be sent a unique registration number that means that you will be eligible to buy a ticket when they go on sale. Tickets issued will carry the photo of the person attending.

You’ll receive a confirmation email with your registration number and a link to the booking page and you’ll receive a second confirmation email within one working day to confirm that your photo has been approved.

Tickets can be booked from October 5th.

Muse The Resistance New Album

Muse - The Resistance

Muse Release Date

The Resistance is Muse’s forthcoming fifth studio album on Warner Bros Helium 3 label. The release of the album has taken an unconventional turn with the band using Twitter and their official website to release details of the title of the album and the first single, “United States of Eurasia”.

Radio 1′s Zane Lowe described the album as as “a beautifully recorded, strong, sweeping, fighting, uplifting, rocking, lilting and inclusive record about love.” He later went on to say: “There are massive riffs in there, there are quirky pop songs in there, there’s all sorts of wonder in there, it is absolutely amazing.”

This praise is across the board and album is tipped as being their most ambitious project ever which they have successfully pulled off.
