Jonas Brothers Release Date
The Jonas Brothers are exactly that, 3 brothers from New Jersey – Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas. Their rise to pop boy band fame came as a result of their appearances on the Disney Channel children’s network and their performance in the 2o08 Disney film, Camp Rock.
This new release, Lines Vines & Trying Times will be their fourth studio album and their first since their 2008 Grammy nomination and their award for Breakthrough Artist at the American Music Awards.
The album will feature 12 pop/rock tracks including the forthcoming single, “Paranoid”, and one bonus track, “Keep it Real”. The title’s meaning is described by Nick thus:
“Lines are something that someone feeds you, whether it’s good or bad. Vines are the things that get in the way of the path that you’re on, and trying times — well, obviously we’re younger guys, but we’re aware of what’s going on in the world and we’re trying to bring some light to it.”

Queen & Paul Rodgers Release Date
Paul Rodgers and Queen started their collaboration in 2004, after Brian May had previously worked with Paul on a number of occasions, most notably at the Fender Strat Park concert in 2004 when he and Paul performed a version of Free’s “All Right Now”. The chemistry between them was palpable and Brian then invited Paul to join the band for their induction into the UK Music Hall of Fame. Shortly after that the Paul Rodgers and Queen collaboration announced the World Tour.
This latest release, Live in Ukraine, came about when the band were approached by the Ukraine’s Anti Aids Foundation, shortly before the start of their “Rock the Cosmos Tour”. The organisation wanted to send a message to the youth of the country: “Don’t Let AIDS Ruin Your Life”. The band agreed but it meant organising this huge event (which was going to take place in Kharkiv’s historic Freedom Square) extremely quickly. But it was all worth it and event was recalled by the band as “an unforgettable experience… one of those rare things in life you know you will never forget. A meeting in music, but also a coming together to fight a common enemy…”
The band were watched live by over 350,000 Ukrainians and a further 10,000,000 homes watched the show live on television.
The CD/DVD will be released as a standard package and also limited edition with tin box packaging, CD&DVD and T-shirt. Live in Ukraine is released through EMI on 25th May.

Dan Brown The Lost Symbol Release Date
At long last, the follow up to Dan Brown’s multi-million selling novel, The Da Vinci Code, will be with us this autumn. Once again featuring our protagonist, Robert Langdon, The Lost Symbol takes place over a 12 hour time period, based in Washington DC and focuses on Freemasonry.
Dan said about his book: ”This novel has been a strange and wonderful journey. Weaving five years of research into the story’s 12-hour timeframe was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon’s life clearly moves a lot faster than mine.”

Devin Townsend Release Date
Devin Townsend is probably best known for his work with world famous guitarist, Steve Vai, and for his own band (now disbanded), Strapping Young Lad. This solo album is the first part of a set of four releases and Devin describes the concept as thus:
“Ki is the first in a series of four albums under the moniker ‘Devin Townsend Project’. Each album is essentially a different band or collection of session musicians playing my music. They were chosen based on what the theme of the album is and the vibe that the album is trying to project. The album Ki is very specific in this quartet of albums in that it controls its anger throughout, barring one song – ‘Heaven Send’ – and really is an exercise in having little to prove.”
Devin’s vocal ranges from singing to shouting and his musical talents are far reaching. Although Ki is a subtle and quieter piece, his style is firmly routed in metal and his multi-layered “wall of sound” has had him compared to the likes of Frank Zappa and Phil Spector.
Ki is released through InsideOut records on 25th May.

Black Eyed Peas Release Date
Black Eyed Peas release their fifth studio album this month. Already flushed from chart success with the first single from the album, Boom Boom Pow, reaching #1 in the US Billboard chart, the album is set to chart high. The album is an energised return to form with Black Eyed Peas producer will.I.am describing it as:
“a lot of dance stuff, real melodic, electronic, soulful. We call it, like, electric static funk, something like that.”
The album title, The E.N.D, stands for The Energy Never Dies, and describes his model for a project that will live and frequently be updated throughout its designated cycle. It’s a comment on the current trend of picking songs from an album instead of buying the whole project in it’s entirety:
“It’s a diary … of music that at any given time, depending on the inspiration, you can add to it. I’m trying to break away from the concept of an album. What is an album when you put 12 songs on iTunes and people can pick at it like scabs? That’s not an album. There is no album anymore.”

Lightning Seeds - Four Winds Release Date
Ian Broudie has come along way since his days with Big in Japan. His brainchild, Lightning Seeds have been performing and recording since 1989 and Ian’s talents as a songwriter, singer, guitarist and producer have influenced many other contemporary bands such as The Zutons, The Coral, I Am Kloot and The Rifles.
The peak of their success came in 1996 when they were asked to record the official football anthem for Euro ’96 and released “Three Lions” propelling them into the number one single slot. They achieved the same in 1998 when they re-recorded the single for the World Cup, which incidentally was not the officially chosen song.
The band has taken a back seat for the last few years while Ian has been producing with other bands after a 10 year hiatus, now return with their sixth studio album, Four Winds. The album is a collection of melodious, uplifting and at the same time retrospective, almost folk rock style songs, with Ian’s harmonious vocals, carefully crafted tunes and musing lyrics.
Four Winds is released through Universal on 18th May.
