This is the ‘Samsung YP-P2JQB/XEU 2GB MP3 Player’. This MP3 device is also a video player and FM radio with 2GB of storage space.
It has a generously sized 3.0 inch LCD display that has icons for ease of operation. To get the sound just right there is a seven band equaliser system for fine tuning. There is ample capacity from the battery with around 30 hours of playback for audio, five hours for video and a fast recharge time of 2.5 hours. The player can also be used to store images for display on its photo viewer.

All the Small Things Release Date
Starring Sarah Lancashire and Neil Pearson, All the Small Things is a BBC TV series about an ambitious church choir. Created by Debbie Horsefield, the premise is based on Debbie’s own childhood experiences of performing in choirs.
Filmed on location in Glossop, Bolton and Manchester, the drama is music heavy with many of the cast members performing songs and musical numbers. Local band, My First HELLO! provided two of the songs for the series and the end title song “Can You Hear Me?”, which is sung by Richard Fleeshman, was co-written by Elton John, Fleeshman himself and Debbie Horsfield. The sound track includes “Love Today” by Mika.
All the Small Things, which has attracted over 4 million viewers per episoide, has been commissioned for a second series - date to be confirmed. The DVD of series one is released on BBC Video on 4th May.

New York Dolls Release Date
Produced by Todd Rundgren, Coz I Sez So is the influential glam rock band, New York Dolls 4th studio album released on Atco Records. It’s also the second album since the band reformed in 2004. Their reunion plans were sadly put on hold when bassist, Arthur Kane died of leukaemia in July 2004. The two surviving members, Sylvain Sylvain and David Johansen would a year later announce a new album and tour and the band fully reformed with new members Steve Conte, Sami Yaffa, Brian Delaney and Brian Koonin.
The album features 11 new songs and a new version of “Trash”, which was on the band’s 1973 eponymous debut album. Lead singer, David Johansen said:
“It was amazing working with Todd again, and I think we were able to evoke the special sound of our first album and drag it by the hair into the present.”
Coz I Sez So is released on Etco Records on 4th May.

The Gallows Release Date
Herts hardcore band, The Gallows, release their 2nd studio album, Grey Britain in May 2009 as a follow up to their critically acclaimed debut album, Orchestra of Wolves in 2006, which hit the number one spot in the UK rock chart.
The Gallows were originally signed to Epitaph records in the US but now have signed to major label Warners for a reported £1 million.
The album will be released in two formats, standard CD and limited edition CD with bonus DVD, featuring 6 videos fitting together to form a short film which documents the bands views on life in Britain today as they see it (it’s no picnic, hence the certificate 18 rating).
Lead singer, Frank Carter, told NME recently: ”Grey Britain is all about what’s going on socially, politically and economically in the UK and how it affects us.”
Grey Britain is released on 4th May through Warners.

The Horrors Release Date
British indie/garage band, The Horrors release their follow up to the 2007 debut album, Strange House, on 4th May. Primary Colours includes the single “Sea Within a Sea” and the music has progressed into a more fully rounded sound from the last album and won the critics over with it’s lusty, brooding and heartfelt songs.
The band have also cut their teeth on an extensive number of tours and live appearances and have also had exposure on TV in BBC comedy “The Mighty Boosh”, appearing as fictional band, “The Black Tubes”.
The Horrors tour throughout the UK in May and June including Glasgow, Brighton, Leeds and London. Primary Colours is released on XL Recordings on 4th May.

Isis Release Date
Wavering Radiant is Isis’ fifth studio album following on from their 2006 release, The Absence of Truth. Described as avant-garde, post or progressive metal, Isis are one of the most revered and influential heavy metal bands today with their innovative and pioneering experimentation into heavy rock music, they in turn have been influenced by artists such as The Swans, Neurosis, The Melvins and Godflesh.
This album has been critically acclaimed as their most accessible yet, with more form and structure than in previous releases. The band also invited Adam Jones of Tool to guest guitar on two of the tracks. Wavering Radiant has already been released on limited edition vinyl and will be available on CD on 4th May.

The ‘Toshiba -VR18DT DVD/VCR Combi Recorder’ is due to be released on 1 June 2009. This is a very versatile piece of technology that not only plays and records DVD and the older style VHS videos but also has an inbuilt digital tuner.
This is a great device for transferring VHS style videos to the more permanent DVD media which is possible on this combi recorder. Many people will have camcorder recordings that will only deteriorate over time if left on the old-style tapes, so this machine offers a great opportunity to archive precious family memories to DVD storage.

Star Trek OST Release Date
American soundtrack composer, Michael Giacchino has written for Film, TV and Gaming since 1997. He was discovered by JJ Abrahms, director of the new Star Trek movie, in 2001 when Abrahms was producing the tv series, Alias. He later went on to use Giacchino for the music on Lost and his first big picture soundtrack was for The Incredibles.
His first Academy Award Nomination was for the film Ratatouille.
Giacchino’s music has an electronic and upbeat feel mixed with the traditional orchestral sounds of sweeping soundtrack music. Star Trek 2009, is launching in the UK on 9th May and stars Chris Pine as James T Kirk and Zacharay Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Bones and Zoe Zaldana as Ulhuru.

Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) Release Date
Yusuf is more familiarly known to us as 70’s folk singer/song writer, Cat Stevens. At the height of his fame in 1979, he turned his back on his music career, converted to Islam, auctioned all his guitars for charity and dedicated himself to promoting world peace, for which he won the World Award in 2003, the Man of Peace Award in 2004, two honorary doctorates for his humanitarian work and the Mediterranean Peace Prize in 2007.
He gradually returned to the pop music scene in the 90’s and in May this year releases “Roadsinger (To Warm You Through the Night)”, with 11 brand new songs sung in his classic Cat Stevens style with deep and meaningful lyrics and a mellow and meditative leaning.
Roadsinger will be released through Island Records on 4th May.

Morecambe & Wise Release Date
Classic vintage comedy with the kings of entertainment, Morecambe & Wise is released on BBC DVD next week. Eric and Ernie’s BBC Television series aired between 1969 and 1977 before it went over onto ITV. The show was voted number 14 in the British Film Institute’s Greatest All Time TV Shows and the pair voted number 2 best loved TV personalities in a 2006 poll.
Writer Eddie Braburn (Ken Dodd, David Frost, Ronnie Corbett) was responsible for most of the character material on the shows between ‘69 and ‘77 and this latest DVD release, consists of all the shows from Series 5 which aired from April 1971 (some of us are even old enough to remember it was Thursdays at 9.20pm on BBC1).
The Christmas show of that year, featured special guest appearances from Glenda Jackson, Shirley Bassey, Andre Previn and among many other notables, Dick Emery.
