The Noisettes – Wild Young Hearts
Noisettes (occasionally written as NOISEttes) are an indie rock trio from London comprising singer and bassist Shingai Shoniwa, guitarist Dan Smith, and drummer Jamie Morrison. Their first commercial success was with the massive anthem, “Don’t Upset the Rhythm”, which is the second single from their forthcoming album “Wild Young Hearts”, currently at number 2 on the UK Singles chart.
Tipped for national and international recognition this year, Noisettes release their full studio album on 20th April through Universal. They recently gave a knock-out performance on Radio 1′s Live Lounge and are currently on tour throughout April and May in the UK and France (including the Lille Festival on 25th April), headlining at XFM’s Big Night Out on Easter bank holiday weekend.

Sonic Youth Release Date
For nearly thirty years, Sonic Youth have been one of the most influential rock groups in popular music history. They’ve been described as punk, alternative, college, experimental and indie rock and their high energy live shows are legendary.
Eternal will be the bands first release on Matador Records, who they signed to last year after being released from their contract with Geffen. Head of label, Gerarrd Cosloy, had this to say about the release:
“We’ve not had a record in our recent history that’s been the subject of nearly as much speculation and anticipation. Suffice to say we’re pretty amazed at the way the band delivered something this neoteric while still sounding like, well, themselves. Less of a reinvention and perhaps more to do with a particularly awesome dozen songs.”

Whitesnake Release Date
David Coverdale’s Whitesnake reach their 25th and 20th Anniversaries of the release of their classic Rock albums, Slide it In and Slip of the Tongue next month. Simultaneously released on 8th June, both reissues come in the form of a digi-pack CD with DVD.
Originally release in 1984, Slide it In was Whitesnake’s first studio album to be released in the US but had to be remixed for the US market. Consequently two albums exist with different sounds. The reissue includes both UK and US mixes of their original tracks. The album went double platinum in 1992 and reached number 9 in the UK chart.
Slip of the Tongue was released in 1989 with guest guitarist, Steve Vai, replacing Adrian Vanderberg due to a hand injury. Fool for Your Loving, The Deeper Your Love and Now That You’re Gone were the three singles released, all going into the top 40 while the album has sold to date over 4 million copies.
For both albums, the bonus disc DVD includes single videos and live footage. They are released on the 8th June.

Star Trek OST Release Date
American soundtrack composer, Michael Giacchino has written for Film, TV and Gaming since 1997. He was discovered by JJ Abrahms, director of the new Star Trek movie, in 2001 when Abrahms was producing the tv series, Alias. He later went on to use Giacchino for the music on Lost and his first big picture soundtrack was for The Incredibles.
His first Academy Award Nomination was for the film Ratatouille.
Giacchino’s music has an electronic and upbeat feel mixed with the traditional orchestral sounds of sweeping soundtrack music. Star Trek 2009, is launching in the UK on 9th May and stars Chris Pine as James T Kirk and Zacharay Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Bones and Zoe Zaldana as Ulhuru.
Star Trek OST will be released on 4th May.
