‘Doctor Who the Deadly Assassin’ is released on DVD on 11/5/09. Tom Baker plays the Time Lord Dr Who in this storyline that was first aired as a set of four episodes in the 1970’s.
The Dr arrives on Gallifrey believing that he was summoned by the President of Time Lords. It transpires that he was set-up as soldiers try to arrest him. The Dr escapes and does what he can to conceal himself in a set of Gallifreyan robes. The plot behind the story centres on ‘The President’ who is due for retirement and is seeking a successor. As the President is about to name who will be his successor, the Dr spots an assassin and as he tries to foil the attempt on The Presidents life he ends up looking as though he was the perpetrator.
An old enemy ‘The Master’ is behind this mysterious plot and the Dr is an irritation that he can do without. ‘Doctor Who the Deadly Assassin’ is due to be released on 11/5/09.
