It's Blitz! Release Date
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – It’s Blitz! Release Date 6th April
Interscope/Universal
New York City based alternative rock band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, return after a 3 year break with their new album, It’s Blitz! released in the UK next week. Their last album, Show Your Bones, was released in 2006 and received NME’s award for the second best album of the year.
The first single of the album, Zero, is available via the band’s website, www.yeahyeahyeahs.com and their Myspace site at yeahyeahyeahs. The video was premiered via AOL on 3rd March and the album was available on digital download from 10th March.
The album is a movement forward for the band but still holds on to the integral energy and thumping beats that the trio have given to the world. This album is more funky and although not disco, is as close to a dance album that the band could possibly get.
Described as “fabulous” by the Guardian, a 4-star review in Rolling Stone, and NME describing them as “…they’re back, better than ever,” Show Your Bones is a must have for any discerning rock muso.
Show Your Bones is released on CD via Interscope Records on 6th April.

Bat for Lashes – Two Suns Release Date 6th April
Parlophone/EMI

Brighton based singer-songwriter, Natasha Khan, hailed as one of the UK’s most maverick and gifted song-writers releases her second album, Two Suns, next week. Although relatively new to the chart spotlight, this is in fact her second album. Her debut album, Fur and Gold, released in 2006 earned her nominations for a Mercury and two Brit Awards but failed to chart higher than 48. This latest release is set to smash that record for good.
Two Suns has already generated huge acclaim across the board and with her Bjork/Kate Bush like vocals, her rhythmic pop and sublime fantasy rock themes, Khans huge vocal, lyrical and musical talents are sure to secure her star status for all the right reasons. The album includes the single ‘Daniel’ and a delicate and yet moving duet with legendary singer-songwriter, Scott Walker.
Her world is creative, fantastic and deeply mysterious, bringing journalists to describe her as having “an ancient power” and being “in part, shamanic”. There is nothing unoriginal about Bat for Lashes. Khan recently said: “There used to be something quirky about pop bands. “If I was a kid now, [I'd think] it’s a bit samey.” Khan has obviously decided to put the quirkiness back into pop.
Two Suns is out on CD/LP on Monday 6th April.

Neil Young “Fork in the Road” CD/DVD Release date 6th April
Warner Brothers

Neil Young Release Date 6th April
The raw, relentless, rocking “Fork in the Road” is released on CD with bonus DVD through Warner Brothers on the 6th April. The pioneering Canadian folk-rockster pulls no punches in this collection of car and road trip theme songs which is the follow-up to the eclectic 2007 album, “Chrome Dreams II”. All the numbers are fast and rocking except perhaps for the slower ballad, “Light a Candle”:
“Light a candle in the darkness, so others might see ahead.”
Neil is in hard grunge mode and the album has received mixed reviews in the press but the album delivers his personal views on the economic climate in the US and the conversion of old classic cars to run on compressed gas and electricity. And you’ll be hard pressed to find a NY fan who doesn’t rate this album. The CD includes a bonus DVD featuring a powerful live version of the Beatles’ ‘A Day In The Life’.
