Chris de Burgh New Album Release Date
Chris de Burgh releases “Footsteps” on 13th April, an album of studio recordings of some of his favourite tracks of all time – his “desert island discs”. He is said to use many of the tracks on this album to soundcheck to when playing live.
The Irish-based popular song-writer (who was actually born in Argentina and now lives in Wexford) has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and has released 6 UK top ten albums. Tracks on Footsteps include Toto’s “Africa”, Jimi Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower”, Nilsson’s “Without You”, Don McLean’s “American Pie” and the Beatles’ “‘Blackbird” plus an exclusive bonus track – ‘Rhythm Of The Rain / Crying In The Rain’ available only in the UK.
Footsteps is out via Edel Records on CD next month.

Super Furry Animals - Dark Days, Light Years Release date
Psychedlic Welsh rock band, Super Furry Animals release their 9th studio album, “Dark Days, Light Years” next month through Rough Trade Records. The album has already had a digital release earlier this month via the bands own website, www.superfurry.com, and it’s physical release is on 13th April.
Super Furrys have a hugely loyal fanbase and their album reviews are historically strong. The Times describe this album as: “…… songs of life-affirming beauty and novelty” and awards it a 4/5 star review as does The Guardian who says: “Dark Days/Light Years is their finest collection since 2003′s Phantom Power”.
Tracks include “Inaugural Trams” featuring Nick McCarthy from Franz Ferdinand rapping in German and “The Very Best of Neil Diamond”.

Gran Turismo 5 (GT5) for the Playstation 3 (PS3) is due to be released on 25/9/09. This Playstation game is just about as real as things can get on a gaming platform, this is car racing taken to the next level.
The cars available are mind blowing in both number and the level of precision maintained in each car. Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Cinema Release Date
‘Transformers Revenge of the Fallen’ directed by Michael Bay is due to be released on 24/6/09. The film follows on from the 2007 movie ‘Transformers’. Full of dramatic effects we see the battle of the Autobots and Decepticons reach new levels.
A certain element of mystery is being maintained about what storyline to expect. We do know though that this is a movie that will keep you on the edge of the seat, it’s fast paced and full of the special effects that you would expect from the involvement of Steven Spielberg.
Cybertron is no longer habitable so the Autobots are contemplating living on earth whilst revenge is in the air as a resurrected Magatron can’t let the past lie. Whilst this movie has dark undertones to it, there are also moments of humour to help maintain the equilibrium. One not to be missed ‘Transformers Revenge of the Fallen’ is due to be released on 24/6/09.

The charming boy from Dungiven rails from his success on X-Factor with the release of his debut self-titled album of well known covers. Songs include Michael Buble’s “Home” and Robbie Williams “She’s the One”.
The album is a mixture of high energy pop and upbeat tunes, as well as slower more mature ballads which are sure to please a diverse audience. ‘EA Sports Active Personal Fitness Trainer’ for the Nintendo Wii is due for release on 22/5/09. This version of the game also includes a resistance band, leg strap and is compatible with the Wii fit balance board.

With an expected release date of 13/4/09 is ‘A Bridge Too Far’ on Blu-ray. This film is a recreated version of the wartime classic of the same name and stars actors like Dirk Bogarde, James Caan, Sean Connery and Michael Caine.
In the film we see ‘Operation Market Garden’ get underway which was intended to bring about an early conclusion to the hostilities by crushing the Germans fighting tactics. Things don’t run to plan as a devastating course of events go against the allies.

‘Planet of The Apes (1968) 40th Anniversary Edition’ is due out on release as a Blu-ray version on 13/4/09. A touch of nostalgia beckons for those old enough to remember the original ‘Planet of the Apes’ series.
Charlton Heston who is the astronaut Colonel Taylor crash lands on an alien planet. He is captured by the inhabitants of the land who turn out to be a colony of humanised intelligent apes. Humans on this planet are the inferior race and are treat with contempt. Help is at hand as Taylor is aided by some of the more moderate apes.
The film is thoroughly entertaining and stands the test of time, it has a devastatingly dramatic end that can’t be missed. ‘Planet of the Apes (1968) 40th Anniversary Edition’ is due for release on 13/4/09.

Earth Stood Still Blu-Ray Release Date
‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ will be released on Blu-ray on 20/4/09. Starring Keanu Reeves, Kathy Bates and a cameo role from John Cleese this film is a re-make of the 1951 film that has the same title.
Reeves is Klaatu an alien who descends to earth in a spaceship landing in Central Park. An overzealous soldier shoots Klaatu but he appears to rejuvenate himself and warns of an impending alien invasion. A battle against time commences with an eruption of special effects.
What will happen is earth doomed or can the looming disaster be averted find out on 20/4/09 when ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ is released on Blu-ray.
