Morrissey “Years of Refusal” MP3 - Original Release date 15th Feb
Decca/Polydor

Heralded by fans and the press as possibly his best solo album ever, “Years of Refusal” is out now on MP3 download. The album began recording in November 2007 at Los Angeles Conway studios. Mixing and a final track was finished and put down in May 2008. The album took a while to release globally as Decca wanted to give Morrissey time to sign a deal on a new label/distributor in the US, due to the breakdown of his relationship with Decca US due to their “poor promotion” of the Greatest Hits release.
After a album launch night to a select few journalists at London Piccadilly’s Pigalle Club, early reviews were high praise indeed with ClashMusic commenting “in a word, it’s brilliant”. Pitchfork Magazine gave it a high 8.1 rating and had this to say:
“Years of Refusal comes as a gratifying shock: It’s his most vital, entertaining, and savage record since 1994’s Vauxhall and I. Rather than try and reinvent himself, Morrissey has rediscovered himself, finding new potency in his familiar arsenal. Morrissey’s rejuvenation is most obvious in the renewed strength of his vocals.
For much of Years of Refusal Morrissey is turning his fire outwards– taking on lovers, enemies, wannabes, or some combination of all three. This is Morrissey’s most venomous, score-settling album, and in a perverse way that makes it his most engaging.”
Years of Refusal is out now on CD, LP and MP3.
